Great Anticipation: ENCHAIN

I am both incredibly surprised, impressed, and intimidated by ENCHAIN. A game set to debut in Steam’s Early Access period sometime next year, mattlawr’s soulslike movement shooter left me wondering if, perhaps, the demo was bugged. Everything ran smooth as butter, the controls felt tight, and it was incredibly gratifying to play; But it kept going. I wondered if, perhaps, I’d somehow skipped a flag that was supposed to tell the game when the demo had finished, but no. The Demo has a surprising amount of content, a few different areas to explore, and an astonishing amount of depth to the mechanics. Mixing gunplay with a grappling hook and parkour feels incredibly satisfying, and every arena in the game offers a huge degree of freedom in how you go about dispatching enemies. The visual style of the game is clean and crisp as well, with a strong art direction. I can’t wait to see how the early access period pans out, so that I can get more incredible action.

Download the demo and wishlist the game here, I doubt you’ll regret it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1396870/ENCHAIN/
